Best Pie, mash and liquor in London
Arments Pie and Mash Blue Plaque Unveiling Ceremony
A special thank you to everyone who voted for a blue plaque for Arments – the Best Pie, mash and liquor in London!
The Blue Plaque Scheme is Jointly run by Southwark Heritage, Southwark Council and Southwark News, awarding just one Blue Plaque per year. Members of the public were invited to put forward famous people, places or events that they thought should be nominated.
Arments where initially put forward for a nomination for a Blue Plaque in March 2013, and nominated in June 2013, along with other contenders: Jack Jones, Southwark Town Hall, Ida Lupino, and Stephen Bourne. Voting then took place by the public and Arments were announced as the winners in October 2013 by a landslide margin, receiving 3,552 votes!
We had a great day for the unveiling of our historical blue plaque. The Arments Blue Plaque was unveiled in a fun ceremony on March 6th 2014, by Millwall footballer Jake Goodman and our special friend Cameron.
The day was a perfect success with Pie and Bubbly being served to our guests and customers in celebration of our recognition of services to the London borough of Southwark and our community over the last 100 years.
The sun was shining and the smiles were on! We are lucky to have such a loyal bunch of eaters of pie and mash.
